At My French Voyage, we highly recommend that your Provençal holiday starts in the comfort of your own home by reading one of Marcel Pagnol’s books: La Gloire de Mon Père (My Father’s Glory).

His love for Provence and his vivid descriptions of le pays de son enfance (the country of his childhood) in his book makes you feel as if you can hear les cigales (the cicadas) and smell la lavande (the lavender) and are the perfect introduction to this stunning region.

Your Gourmet Adventure – Food & Wine Tour

Provence: A Culinary Paradise

Provence is a region truly blessed by the gods when it comes to food and wine. A journey here is a feast for the senses, with flavors that captivate and experiences that stay with you long after you’ve left. Highlights of our 7-day, all-inclusive food and wine tour of Provence include:

Tasting Local Delights: Indulge in olives, gariguettes (sweet strawberries), cherries, cavaillon melon, and saffron. Vaucluse, Provence’s natural vegetable garden, offers the region’s best produce, available fresh at the market year-round.

Sunday Market Visit: Explore the vibrant farmers’ market at L'Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, where you’ll sample an array of sun-ripened fruits, herbs, dried plants, goat cheeses, olive oils, honey, jams, fresh bread like fougasse and baguette, and so much more.

Café Culture: Sit back at a café terrace with a refreshing glass of pastis, an anise-flavored aperitif beloved by the locals.

Vineyard Exploration: Discover the renowned wines of Northern Provence, including Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Côtes du Rhône, Gigondas, and Beaumes de Venise. Visit local vineyards during the vinification process to see how these exquisite wines come to life.

Dining at Local Gems: Dine at some of the region's best restaurants, often run by talented chefs with Michelin star backgrounds, offering authentic Provencal cuisine away from the tourist crowds.

Picnic Under the Olive Trees: Enjoy a picturesque picnic under the shade of an olive tree, paired with a fresh bottle of Provence’s signature rosé.

Each evening, Francois, your Michelin-star chef, will prepare a dinner featuring local recipes and seasonal produce sourced from the markets.

YOUR BACKROAD ADVENTURE - Sightseeing & Exploring

PProvence: A Land of Light and Beauty

Provence is a region bathed in sunlight year-round, with landscapes that range from fertile crop fields and sprawling vineyards to fragrant cedar and oak forests. This diverse scenery makes Vaucluse a perfect blend of natural beauty and the art of living, and we can’t wait to share it with you.

Our journey will take us to Avignon, a medieval town guarded by ancient ramparts and home to the Popes, as well as Mont Ventoux, famous for its dramatic stages in the Tour de France and its iconic lavender fields.

Seven villages in the region have earned the title of “most beautiful villages in France,” including Gordes, Bonnieux, Séguret, and Venasque. Stroll through their narrow streets, relax in shady squares, and admire their graceful fountains—each village inviting you to unwind and savor its beauty.

One of the week’s highlights will be a visit to the stunning Les Baux-de-Provence, with its medieval castle and the mesmerizing Carrières de Lumières light show, a truly unforgettable experience.

Provence is also famous for its handicrafts, from olive wood to handmade soaps, vibrant tablecloths, traditional pottery, and dried lavender. We’ll visit workshops where artisans create these treasures before your eyes.

Discover why Vincent van Gogh and Paul Cézanne chose Provence as their home, drawing inspiration from the very landscapes you’ll be exploring.

For antique enthusiasts, we’ll visit l’Isle-sur-la-Sorgue, one of the finest antique markets in France.

Each day ends with a relaxed game of boules, accompanied by a refreshing glass of rosé and some tapenade (olive paste) spread on fougasse (local bread)—because, as they say in Provence, la vie est belle!
